Hurricane Cocktail

Hurricane Matthew is passing by and wreaking the special type of havoc that only a hurricane can. For most Floridians hurricane supplies include alcohol since we need something to do when we’re hunkered down in our houses. So of course there’s an opportunity for a cocktail here!

Living in New Orleans definitely taught me the value of the Hurricane cocktail. It’s one of the city’s signature drinks and if you walk into an establishment that does not serve one, that’s not a place you really want to be. They’re super simple, usually super strong, and definitely one of my favorites!
